Schertz Public Library offers eBooks and eAudiobooks through the following platforms: CloudLibrary, Libby by Overdrive, and Comics Plus. Scroll for more information on each platform. For more information on how to download and use the resources, check out our tutorials at the bottom of this page.

CloudLibraryCloudLibrary

CloudLibrary is a free service, available to all library patrons – all you need is your library card. This collection is available in the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Amazon Appstore, Chrome Web Store, or on a web browser.

How do I log in?

Whether you are logging in through the app or a web browser, you will first be prompted to select your country (United States) and state (Texas). You will then see a list of libraries in Texas to choose from.

Schertz Public Library patrons have two options for accessing CloudLibrary: Schertz Public Library and Schertz Public Library (E-Read Texas).

If you are using the app, you can log into both collections by adding each one under the “Cards” feature. This allows you to easily switch back and forth between the two collections without needing to enter your library card credentials again.

What is E-Read Texas?

E-Read Texas provides approximately 20,000 eBooks and eAudiobooks to eligible public libraries in Texas. The collection contains popular adult fiction and non-fiction, as well as some young adult crossover materials. You’ll find newly published titles from well-known authors, as well as classics and independent fiction. There’s also a great selection of nonfiction titles to help you learn new things, such as languages, arts and crafts, gardening, or business skills.

What is the difference between the Schertz Public Library and E-Read Texas collections?

The Schertz Public Library collection is our local, home collection. It includes titles selected and purchased by our library, along with access to thousands of additional titles shared by libraries across Texas. Items purchased by Schertz Public Library can be found in our online catalog, but for the most complete selection, we recommend searching directly in the CloudLibrary app or on the CloudLibrary website in a browser.

The E-Read Texas collection is a separate collection provided by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC). Titles in this collection are not searchable on our online catalog and can only be found in the CloudLibrary app or on the CloudLibrary website in a browser.
